We are at the maximum capacity for fostering in Holland & Belgium. Fostering in these regions currently isn’t possible.

Marco, a large sized Galgo. The poor boy gets very stressed from the life in a shelter. Unfortunately, some dogs can handle it less than others.

He is very possessive and dominant with food. Something we often see this in shelter dogs or dogs that only had little food in the past.

He is afraid of humans. Such that he tries to hide in a corner and shows his teeth. He wouldn’t bite, but tries to stop them from getting closer. We cannot really tell anything about his character because of his fears. He gets very stressed from the continuous barking in the shelter. We think it would be better if he would go to a foster home without any other dogs. He would really need to relax. Unfortunately, foster homes are hard to find over here.

We are looking for an owner who is experienced with fearful dogs. The new owner should not have any other dogs or at least very calm ones.

Marco cannot progress any further in the shelter, so he really needs you to help him. He needs to learn how to trust people and his self-confidence should also be worked on. Of course he should also learn how to live in a house, walk on a leash, and understand that he is safe and loved. The most important thing is that he settles down first.
