Rony is one of those dogs that has been with us for far too long. He’s had a rough start followed by a rescue and a second rough patch in life. And now, this beautiful yet damaged boy has lived with Marita and in the shelter for well over five years already.

When he was first rescued Rony already spend quit some time in a different refuge. Sadly the owner of this refuge stopped showing up leaving Rony and lots of other dogs in a desperate and scary situation. This resulted in a joint action leading to several adoptions. Unfortunately for Rony he was left behind and became a part of our ever-growing shelter family. He was very scared at the beginning and this has slowly gotten better. Especially some tasty treats work wonders in getting him closer to you in the beginning.

Rony really deserves a chance, a chance to feel a soft pillow under his aging bones. A chance to learn about love, happiness and safety. We realize Rony’s chances are small. Especially as he also has Leishmania that is has also affected his bones.

He gets a daily dose of medication for this and he can surely grow old and happy. But we truly need someone who is willing to take the chance!

We think Rony can live together with cats. When needed we will put this to the test to make sure. A loving, kind owner in a calm home with lots of patience and a small garden would be amazing for him! It would be great if his new home comes with an already stable other dog, preferably a female. We think he can live with males as well. But a female would be better.
