Who are we?
We are the Terrenito Asos Shelter. Founded by Marita Rubio and operated by her, the staff and a team of volunteers. Together we strive to shelter and re-home dogs that would not stand a chance without our help. Spend some time on our website and social media to get to know us and the dogs! “It’s been about 10 years since I started in “this world”. Working together providing protection in Denia. Little by little the number of dogs grew until I ran out of room for them.
Sometimes it’s too hard and I get too tired, but every time I see those dogs in their loving forever homes it is worth it.
I kept going these 10 years thanks to the support of my family and all those people who are helping, selfless and caring to provide for these dogs and find them new homes. It has been a lot of hard work, but I love doing it as in the end it is exactly what makes me happy!”

Our Organization
On the outskirts of a small town called Fortuna you will find a shelter dedicated to guarding and re-homing dogs. Dogs that are always abandoned, sometimes injured or ill and in some cases traumatized as well. Founder Marita has dedicated her life to rescuing these dogs and together with teams from all over the world we strive as a group to get them the new loving home they deserve!

Our Goals
Our main construction project at the moment is providing additional shelter against sun, rain and wind for the dogs in the open kennels. We reached our financial target and construction is ongoing. A whopping €1940,- has been collected!
We have a couple of dogs in our shelter who need urgent and specialist medical care. Dama requires orthopaedic surgery, Ana specialist treatment, Arlo additional checking up and more. These are exceptional costs that we can’t carry without your support! Will you help us with this? We are aiming at €1600,- for the current special cases.
Our dogs sure love their daily dose of sunshine! In winter however they can struggle to keep warm so we try to collect dog coats and blankets as much as we can to keep them all snug and warm. Our aim is a coat for every dog and an additional blanket for the extra vulnerable.
Last year we had our “wish for Christmas” collection. We do this to place extra attention on all of our furry friends spending yet another Christmas alone in the shelter. While this is an extremely sad fact we try to make it just a little better by giving them a special meal on Christmas eve. Will you support our quest? We need around €500,- to make this work!
Our main ways of reaching the people who adopt our dogs and support our efforts are via social media and our website. It took some doing, but here you go! Our website is finalised.
One of the ways we can get some additional financial support is by offering you fun merchandise, useful items and beautiful artwork in our webshop! Now that the main website is finished this will be our next online project.
